Instinctively walking the path to rhythmic drum woven beats thats been manipulated digitally and fed to hungry Africans over decades have left us malnutritioned.I have given this so much thought, how music feeds a world thats hungry not just to move the body but also to feed and sustain the soul.I am a protocol of this education method that was unknowingly passed onto generations and generations of people.Remember when Bob Marley was in South Africa that was the power of music and whoever saw the message as a threat knew the power to feed the hidden brain that was able to digest and give it much more thought than ones first brain. So the tempo has upped and the larger concentration of music these days are fuelled by its rhythm with less of a concentration of words, hmmm i wonder (In my thick African accent) Each generation goes through different phases and at some point the words 'this will never compare to the good old days' comes to life through some adults mouth, yes that might be true but i also believe we are responsible for the history we pass down to the next generation.Just the other day i had a discussion with a proffesor from a university in America (let me capitalize that we all know americans loves media) no pun intended! We will touch on that comment in another post.Back to the topic the lady practises music therapy and i found it really facinating that its acknowledged that music is therapuetic and that its role in society is so valueble.
